Stuff I love. Part deux.

Drums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SCREEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started to play the drums in the Salvation Army at the tender age of seven. Even back then I dreamt of playing drums in a band. It's been my dream ever since. I played in a band last year - and it was just perfection.

I tap rhythm out on various surfaces throughout the day, especially near tills when I'm supposed to be concentrating on paying. I sing everyday, I'm learning to play the guitar - but mostly I looooong to play the drums. (And sing, and be in a band and play the guitar and the bass and jazz piano. Ok and the digareedoo.)
There is one sticky problem that I really need to overcome however. I am intensly nervous about playing drums in front of anybody. It may be because I have been made so aware that I'm a girl, and that playing drums as a girl is, at best, viewed as 'original.' I am aware that I think way too much about what people think about me - still.

I wanted to post this blog to push myself along a bit. I'm so tired of living in fear of what other people think!! This is my dream and I mean to accomplish it.

Here's the solution:
Get drum lessons, in Oslo and join the coolest band in the universe. Yaaaaaay.
My major dream is to sing and play, sometimes at the same time. (Oh no she di-nt. Yea - fo shizzle.) Well, well, well.
I'm going to go for it. Come to my concerts - and I promise I'll still talk to you when I'm world famous.

Albert says that he thinks girls that play the drums are 'hot'. He's got a bit of a thing about them actually.

I'll come to your concerts!!

I'll even dance and clap at the end and I'd be super happy if you talked to me after the show, or let me come back stage for pop corn and soda.

On a serious note - I see you playing the drums. I see you having a great time, bringing a lot of joy and fun times to many people. I know you can do it and just like I will speak Catalan by Christmas - you will also be playing the drums in a super cool band on your way to stardom and riches.

much love

Belinda allow me to introduce you to Tiffany - a fellow Aussie.

Tiffany: You are so gloriously encouraging. Thankyou so much for your support. I feel very supported and backed up by my mates. Thanks for believing in me.

I am sooo impressed that you WILL be speaking Catalan by Christmas. I'm sending you a: "Grrrrrr - you can doooo iiiii," cheer leader thing.
(I am just generally impressed that you're even learning Catalan at all.)

Belinda:
I remember you playing the jamba at prayer school and you were acetastic. I was also sooo impressed by the fact that you didn't shave your legs - you are way cool.
You have very good rhythm as I recall. Nice one Miss groovy. Thanks for cheering me on!

So completely and uberly jealous of your drum playing. It's one of my goals I hope to achieve before I die.
I'm actually praying for an amazing part Brazlian, part Norweign, Jewish husband that plays the drums, guitar, piano, and sings. That's the short list. But basically, I said that to say that when he FINALLY comes along...he can teach me the AMAZINGNESS of the drums.
